Hollong Organic Vermicompost
Vermicompost (vermi-compost) is the product of the decomposition process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast.
i. Improves soil aeration
ii. Improves water holding capacity of soil
iii. Enhances germination, plant growth, and crop yield
iv. Improves root growth and structure
v. Enriches soil with micro-organisms
Generally vermicompost and soil mixture is mixed at a 1:1 ratio before potting the plants.
i. For fruits, 1-2 kg vermicompost can be applied to each plant according to their age.
ii. For vegetables, 1.1-5 Kg vermicompost can be applied to each square meter.
iii. For tea garden, 200 gm vermicompost can be applied to each plant.
